this game was a lot of fun, but there was a lot of glitches
Quite buggy at certain parts that get you softlocked, had to restart several times. Certain parts of the game I had no idea what was even happening. Certainly a fun game though regardless of all of it, and I loved the graphics.
game is worth playing, the grocery store is the best part
The story for this is soooo interesting. Excited to see the next episode. Had some interesting bug encounters I talk about at the end of this video.
Hey great video! I wasn't aware about the Robert bugs you have encountered, and I'm going to fix them soon, as for the story and the save system, I hope to make the second game even better, with an in-menu save system and I hope to bring more quality around features in general.
Thank You! I believe you will make a GREAT series of games. I look forward to it!
Honestly this game was really great despite there being minor bugs. Also this game had some very funny parts. Decent game Cycle 01 👍
Hi, although there were some difficulties with bugs in changing the locks and other areas, this game was very detailed and showed a lot of love into the design, and i would love to play the full version. Thanks

This is the first comment on itchi that I've left but I just had to comment for this game. This is legit one of the funniest games I've ever played in my life. I was in tears multiple times from laughing so hard. Sorry if I've ruined your horror atmosphere but god damn this game is 10/10 hilarity.
Super rife with bugs and glitches but Secrets of Sundown is the gift that keeps on giving
Lean into the jankiness
the story is interesting! hope to see more! minor bugs but manageable when restarting the save... also had to replace the grocery store audio as its copyrighted
Game has potential, but it's riddled with soft locking bugs that require a checkpoint restart. Also, when interacting with Robert after he fixed my car, I was met with this dialogue, what the hell is this? "Emporium of Vrykolas"? This was a major bug, as even restarting at a checkpoint did not remove it from the screen, and it's really killing my motivation to continue. I also highly recommend learning some optimization, as 6.3gb for what this game actually contained is a bit on the wild side
I am sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience with Secrets Of Sundown, although the bug that you've countered is hard to remake I tried fixing it as much as I could. I try to update the game constantly and fix the bugs. As for the high requirements, the game also runs on weaker PCs. I promise to optimize the next games much more and make it accessible at full potential for everyone.
Thanks again for your constructive review, as it helps me improve every day!
I had such high expectations when going into this game. From the screenshots and the title screen it looked really promising. But MY GOD it was such a let down. And an unfortunate one at that. I love the idea and story behind it but it could've been executed so much better. The whole game was riddled with bugs. Yes they were minor ones but they still broke what little immersion had for the game. Another thing is that its just really clunky. I was stuck on the first bit for like 10 minutes because I didn't know how to put down those damned boxes. And even before that I had to restart the game because it decided to soft lock. I really hope for the second game you make it actually playable because the story is really nice and I'm interested into what will happen next but the gameplay was just terrible
Hey Roach,
Firstly I want to apologize that you weren’t able to enjoy my game at it’s fullest potential and I am really sad by that. I am working actively on improving and fixing bugs in the game as I gather more and more feedback.
As it’s my first ever game and I didn’t think it would get this much recognition I am still learning and adapting to new things.
I promise I will fix all the bugs within my power and since I’ve reached a huge milestone for me I will keep adding content to the game until the second one which I promise it will be better and the plan for the story will intrigue more.
I plan on adding a scene menu so you can navigate on which level you were on before if your game glitches out or you simply want to replay your favorite part.
Again I am sorry for your experience but I want to thank you for playing my game and giving it a chance, your feed back helps me a lot to learn, fix and become better!
Another think I'd recommend is to work on your optimization. This game really shouldn't need a 2060 to play comfortably. All being said looking forward to your next game!
OMG I MIGHT BUUUUUUUUUST! This game was SO GOOD! AMAZING ACTUALLY. I can't wait for PART 2. Real talk now if you ever quit making games, I think I might beat my wife or something. YOUR GAMES ARE TO DIE FOR. Please never give up and continue blessing our eyes with top of the line gameplay. maybe we can grab a coffee later if you get where I'm coming from ;). Anyway, I just tipped one dollar. get something nice for yourself 😍
Secrets of Sundown is an intriguing and eerie game with tremendous potential, but it falls short due to several bugs and glitches that disrupt the experience. While the controls feel a bit clunky at times, the developer has done an impressive job creating a detailed car mechanic system, especially for an indie game.
I sincerely hope to see updates in the future, as with some additional polish and refinement, this game could truly shine. Please consider this feedback as constructive advice and an invitation to explore areas of improvement—many of which I discuss in my video.
Despite its flaws, I had a lot of fun playing Secrets of Sundown and am excited to see more from the developer in the future. Keep up the great work!
Hey, I've watched your video and made some fixes regarding specific stuff that happened throughout your gameplay and I hope you will give it another chance after the updates. Thanks for the constructive criticism as it helps me improve my game.
I will absolutely give it another try because the vision is there and love a great indie horror game! Whenever you release the next update please contact me <3 Have a good day!
Fun game and the eerie style is really cool. I hope to see part 2 soon or some updates man. also why can't i open that one door in my house bro what is hidden there??
But...
I encountered a few soft lock bugs that eventually prevented me progressing further in the game. This seemed to happen in the supermarket on two occasions when I would speak to NPCs and the dialogue channel would freeze me in place. The only thing I could do was to boot out of the game itself and start again. I did this twice on my playthrough, but didn't have the energy to try for a third time. Would love to see this episode through to the end, but would also like to talk to NPCs without the risk of being frozen.
A few other notes:
- Bringing the boxes into the house, the living room would be considered downstairs, no? There was some trial and error with throwing boxes into the rooms. Perhaps have 'ghost placeholders' for players to know where they are placing the boxes. Maybe one for each room, or just generally having them in one place and highlighting to the player. The room upstairs for me seemed like a spare room, not the main living room.
- I loved the interaction with the NPCs - they all gave a little morsel of what was going on in the town. Would have liked to see more of their characters before heading off to the supermarket. Perhaps a few more interactions with the friend that brought us to to this place to immerse us into the flow of things.
- Surely there's going to be a love interest side quest with Suzie?
Otherwise, a great job - will look forward to playing this again and getting to end once the supermarket issues are fixed!
Hey Mr_Selfy,
Thank you for playing my game and I loved your video, regarding the need of restarting the game each time, it's not really necessary as I have made a button special for bugs I didn't prevent to replay the level, in the pause menu. And for the boxes from the first scene, I made it so you can place the boxes throughout the hole house to make it easier for the player.
I also had seen you had troubled with the NPCs that were in the store, and I tried fixing them as soon as I watched the video.
I hope you will give my game another chance as like your intuition guided you, Suzie will help you out with something and I also have plans for her in the second game.
Great video! Keep up the good work!
It's hard to believe that such a cool and interactive game was made by a solo dev. Though the elements of horror, stalking, and occult were super present, I had equal fun just doing my tasks- talking to all the neighbors, crashing my car into everyone else's, my boy hit a backflip, grocery shopping for my lasagna...It all felt cool and fun and very well made. There were a couple times where bugs had me reset the sequence, but I'd say this game is well worth it and I hope you continue to develop it.
I play your game (and a couple others) and leave more in depth feedback in my video below. You can also vote for your game on my channels community page to advance in my bracket for Best Indie Horror of January. I'll be 3D printing a scene or monster from the winners game and sending it to the game dev!
Thanks for playing Secrets Of Sundown, i very much enjoyed your video, I found it funny in every way, and I'm glad that the "Last Scene Save" button was useful for you!

Does your game have translation to Portuguese? If not, I'm interested to help.
Hey there is no translation to Portuguese. Unfortunately I don’t plan on adding other languages to this game. Thank you for the kind offer tho!
So far this is a pretty solid series! I did encounter numerous bugs while playing this but overall, loving the story so far, and besides the bugs, this was a treat to play, love the visuals. Made a video on it.
Thanks for playing my game and I hope you enjoyed it, your video was great and like I said I will make an update fixing most of the issues, regarding your laggy performance, there will be some improvements as well
Great game , I like Pete and his backflips, took me a few tries to complete the game but I enjoyed how the dialogue was important to the story , great game!
Cool game!
Nice this was ok game not bad at all but when I first play through I check in store the bathroom the game went to black screen I couldn't move and load the save the second play through was I finish the shopping list and went to the car but the shopping list didn't disappear, so there some that need to be fixing but also the game was good anyway well done keep it up!
Hey I am aware of the few bugs, and I'm going to make an update as soon as possible
